Jillian Barlow is an Associate Lawyer at PooranLaw, where she practices in the areas of Labour and Employment Law, Human Rights, Disability Law, and the I Decide Law Program. Jillian has always been committed to social justice and advocacy, and she is proud to support organizations, individuals, and families through this lens.
Before joining the firm as an Associate, Jillian was both a Summer Student and Associate-in-Training at PooranLaw. Her legal experience also includes a summer position at an estate litigation boutique and a placement at the Ontario Court of Justice during law school.
Jillian earned her Juris Doctor from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she was awarded the Gardiner Roberts LLP Scholarship. She was actively involved in the Pro Bono Students Canada Lincoln Alexander chapter, volunteering with Halton Community Legal Services and WomenatthecentrE’s project on transformative justice for survivors of gender-based violence and human trafficking.
Prior to law school, Jillian completed a co-op degree in Arts and Business at the University of Waterloo, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Social Justice. She graduated with Distinction, earned Dean’s Honours, and received the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award in her program. Jillian also served as a Policy Analyst with Ontario’s Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, gaining valuable experience in public policy and government relations.
