Alisa Khan Parikh is the Lead Associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team at PooranLaw. She is a fierce advocate for her clients and has built a skillset around various areas of law, including criminal and civil litigation.
Prior to joining PooranLaw, Alisa ran her own practice that focused on litigating issues before the Consent and Capacity Board and the Ontario Review Board. Alisa advocated for the rights of persons found incapable to manage property or make treatment decisions, persons being detained involuntarily in health care facilities, as well as assisting clients through disputes over end-of-life decisions. Alisa is particularly passionate and proud of the work she’s done serving vulnerable people in their times of crises.
Before founding her own practice, Alisa was an Associate at a large criminal law firm in Toronto and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice.
Alisa completed her articleship at a busy Toronto law firm, specializing in mental health law. She represented clients who had been found not criminally responsible for crimes ranging from harassment to murder. She also assisted Senior Counsel on a Coroner’s Inquest, investigating police use of lethal force in interactions with persons with mental health disorders.
Before law school, Alisa worked for one of Canada’s largest media companies as a Marketing professional for several years.
